Cracks and basement water
Water may follow cracks through poured concrete walls or enter where masonry, joints, and penetrations are vulnerable. A proper evaluation should distinguish localized crack seepage from broader drainage or groundwater issues.
Repair may be only one part of the solution
If water also appears along the floor perimeter or across multiple walls, the problem may involve drainage or hydrostatic pressure in addition to the crack itself. See hydrostatic pressure and basement water.
